The Devil Inside

Plot:

On October 30, 1989, Maria Rossi (Suzan Crowley) committed triple murders during an exorcism performed on her. The Catholic Church became involved, and she has since been in a Catholic psychiatric hospital in Rome.

In 2009, twenty years later, her daughter Isabella (Fernanda Andrade) and a film crew try to find a pastor/scientist to help Maria. Isabella starts to question whether this runs in families, as she fears she herself will one day be possessed. Maria's possession proves to be unlike anything in the history of Christianity. A series of unauthorized exorcisms ensues. Everything goes horribly wrong, and the only piece of evidence is the footage caught by the film crew.

So what was my take on the movie?

Firstly I can say its not your typical glammed up Hollywood style horror film but documentary to give it a more natural and realistic view. With that said the movie was filmed well and it being a documentary made it more believable then some skeptics may think or feel. The movie portrayed some very disturbing and graphics scenes and is very intertwined with religion. I'd advise that anyone who strongly believes in scientific facts to out rule demonic possession not watch this movie as it will grind your gears. The movie was short and un-conclusive and yet to prove whether the story is actually true.

All in all in my opinion I give the movie a 9 out of 10 being that it was filmed very well, acting was very impressive and some of the scenes where unbelievable to watch (For example when the priest actually trying to drown a baby during a baptism). Other scenes in the movie proved to be way to convenient for the story line which makes you think "COME ON REALLY?!" But for a big horror fan that I am I thought the movie to be a great thrill and gruesomely awesome. There was a lot of disappointment at the end of the movie but that's for your own judgment. There is information given at the end of the movie for further research into the story.

In turn for true horror film lovers out there I think you'd really appreciate this movie seeing as Hollywood has taken horror films to ridiculous and far-fetched ways that you don't have the chance to be thrilled or shiver at your sear and out of the theater saying "I wonder if that can really happen to me?"

For those who appreciate a good horror films or just like the thrill of it I suggest you see this movie, it def got my mind boggling about the world behind possession and how science is beginning to out rule religion in which my opinion is truly sad. Slowly the idea of protection from God can be solved with modern day medicine.
